Description

The Register Office is a 19th-century building located on the north side of Cheapside in Langport. It is constructed from Ham stone ashlar and features a design with no visible roof behind the parapet and no chimney stack. The building is single-storey with three bays. It has a plinth and quasi-Doric pilasters at each bay, along with a cornice and a low plain parapet that lacks coping, which is slightly raised over the central bay and inscribed with the words 'Register Office'. The first bay contains a plain door set in a semi-circular arched recess, topped with a plain fanlight and accessed by two steps. The second and third bays have 12-pane sash windows, also in semi-circular arched openings, with apron panels beneath. The interior has not been seen.
