Description

The Hare and Hounds Hotel is an early 19th-century building located on Low Leighton Road in New Mills. It is two storeys high, constructed from coursed stone, and features a stone slate roof with a parapet and coped gable ends. The façade has a symmetrical arrangement of windows in a 1-2-1 pattern, with the centre sections projecting slightly forward. Notably, there are no glazing bars on the windows. The building is relatively plain, but the two central openings on the ground floor stand out; they have oval arches connected by an impost band. The left opening contains a recessed window, while the right features a simple Adam-style doorway, complete with an ornamental fanlight and sidelights.
