Description

Friend's Meeting House is a plain stone building dating from the 18th century, located on Low Leighton Road in New Mills. It features a slate roof that has replaced earlier stone slates, with kneelers at the gable ends. The building has three windows with stone lintels and glazing bars. To the left, there is a small window above one to the left of the door, which is studded and has a rectangular fanlight beneath a stone lintel. A small stone on the gable is dated 1717. The interior has no original fittings, and there is modern glazing in two windows on the gable end on both storeys. Additionally, there is a chimney at the gable end of this portion of the building, which serves the living quarters included in the Meeting House.
