Description

This building is a shop located 12 metres west of Virginia House in Langport, dating from the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with Ham stone dressings and features a flat or low pitched roof behind a parapet, with no chimney stacks. The shop has two storeys and three bays, with a cornice mould and a low plain parapet. The ground floor has a mid-20th century shop front with a recessed door in the centre. Above this, there are 12-pane sash windows in plain openings, each with rubbed brick flat arches. The shop was likely designed to match the adjoining premises to the west, which are probably around 50 years older. It is included in the listing primarily for its group and streetscape value.
