Description
Hubbles is a shop built in the 19th century, located on Cullings Hill in Elham. The building is constructed of painted brick in Flemish bond and features a plain tile roof. It stands two storeys high with a hipped roof that slopes to the left and extends to the rear with a higher ridge. The front of the building has a regular arrangement of three windows, each fitted with four-pane sashes in open boxes. The ground floor has a shop front that includes three lights on either side of central half-glazed double doors, topped by a leaded moulded cornice supported by consoles.
To the left, there is a warehouse that forms a rear return wing. This section is made of red brick in Flemish bond and has a plain tile roof that is hipped at the back. The first floor features eight two-pane sashes, while the ground floor has four broad openings with segmental heads.
The interior has not been inspected, but the building is included for its group value.
