Description

This stable and coach house, dating from the late 18th century, is located adjacent to the left return of Pilton House. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble with coped verges that have bases for finials, and it features a slate roof in the Gothick style. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. It includes pointed head windows with Y-tracery, with some remaining iron stanchions and leaded lights, although the centre window on the first floor is blocked. There are two door openings: the one on the left has a semi-circular head in a dressed stone surround and a plank door, while the broad carriageway to the right is in a segmental headed dressed stone surround with paired plank doors that have iron hinges.
