Description
Kingswood Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse constructed from local stone rubble, with the main facade rendered. It features a Welsh slate roof between coped gables and has brick chimney stacks at both ends. The southeast facade consists of three bays, with a dairy extension on the northeast gable. The windows in the outer bays have three-light stone surrounds with beaded architraves and mullions, which are almost ovolo moulded, while the central bay has a two-light window. There is a projecting gabled porch between the first and second bays, which has a heavy stone lintel above a plain doorway. The extension includes a two-light hollow chamfer mullioned window with rectangular leaded lights and no label, possibly indicating a re-use, along with a tiled roof and a stone base course. At the rear, there is an extension at right angles that serves as a granary, featuring stone steps leading up to a plain upper doorway, and underneath, there may be a cider room with a two-light hollow chamfer window. The interior is noted to have no special interest, but the entire site and farmhouse are significant in the context of agricultural and dairy history.
