Description
Lower Cwm is a farmhouse that possibly dates from the late 17th century and was significantly remodeled in the early 18th century, with some minor alterations made in the late 19th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a hipped roof made of both stone slate and Welsh slate. The building has a rectangular plan and includes a later attached dairy wing at the rear, along with gable-end stacks and a rear stack. It has two storeys, an attic, and a cellar, with two string courses running along the exterior. The facade has three windows with late 19th-century sashes; on the ground floor, there is one window to the left and two to the right of the entrance, which is framed by a gabled porch. The windows to the right of the entrance have solid shaped stone lintels. Inside, the farmhouse retains chamfered ceiling beams.
