Description
Great Trewern is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof. The building is designed in an L-shape, with a cross-wing at the east end and later additions on the rear, which faces south. It has a main axial stack, a west gable-end stack, and an additional lateral stack in the cross-wing. The farmhouse has a single storey and an attic.
On the south front, there are glazing bar sash windows that flank a lean-to porch, and the gable end of the cross-wing to the right has one similar sash window. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is said to retain plank-and-muntin panelled screens, as noted in the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England.
