Description
Upper Cwm Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with extensions made in the 18th century and alterations in the 20th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and has a stone slate roof. The original 17th-century house has a rectangular plan aligned north-west to south-east, with a later addition to the north-east that forms a T-plan. The main lateral stack is enclosed by this later addition, which features a central entrance, while the earlier house has a gable entry. The building has two storeys with an attic in the earlier house and a single storey in the later addition.
On the south-east front, the gable end of the 17th-century wing is to the left, showcasing a 5-light diamond mullioned wooden framed window with a stone label in the attic, and 20th-century windows below. The single storey later addition to the right has one 20th-century window to the left and two to the right of a ledged door with a square light. Inside the main house, there is a plank-and-muntin panelled partition that retains a shaped doorhead.
