Description
Lynnshield Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse constructed from squared rubble with dressings, featuring a Welsh slate roof and rebuilt stone and brick chimneys. The building has two storeys and three wide bays, with a chamfered plinth and raised-and-chamfered quoins. The central door has been replaced and is set within a narrow, raised and tooled surround, with replaced sashes in similar surrounds: paired 8-pane sashes in the end bays and a 12-pane sash above the door. The steeply-pitched roof has slightly-swept eaves, coped gables, and shaped kneelers, along with a stone stack on the left end and a brick stack on the right end. The rear of the farmhouse features scattered sashes and a large 16-pane stair window. Inside, there is a cut-string, dogleg staircase with two flights plus a landing rail, featuring a ramped handrail supported by two turned balusters per tread.
