Description
This is a monumental figure located in the churchyard, approximately 10 metres west of the tower of the Church of St Mary. The figure is a recumbent representation of a merchant, likely dating from the early 16th century. It is made of dressed stone and is life-size, depicted wearing a robe with its head resting on a woolpack. The face of the figure is mutilated. It is set at ground level, with no visible base or plinth, and may represent a patron of the church.
