Description

No. 6 Market Place is a late 18th century to early 19th century building with three storeys and a painted brick front. It features an eaves cornice and a pantile roof, with quoins at the corners. There is one window on each storey, with sash windows; the first-floor window is round-headed and has gothic glazing bars. The building includes a small 19th-century shop front, and the return side has a door hood supported by wrought-iron brackets. This building is part of an important group that includes the listed buildings on the east side, the Market Cross, Nos 2 to 12 (even) High Street, Abbey Gatehouse, Town Hall, and St Dunstan's House on Magdalene Street.
