Description

No. 7 Market Place is a late medieval timber-framed building with early 19th-century stucco. It features a gabled front with three storeys, bargeboards that have openwork cusping and a finial, and a pantile roof supported by four tall brick stacks. The building jetties over the ground floor and has one sash window in a moulded frame on the first floor, which lacks glazing bars. The ground floor retains its original moulded beams with curved braces. This building is part of a significant group that includes the listed buildings on the east side, the Market Cross, Nos 2 to 12 (even) High Street, Abbey Gatehouse, Town Hall, and St Dunstan's House on Magdalene Street.
