Barn To Almonry Farm, 90 Metres West Of Church Of Saint Peter And Saint Paul

This is a barn located at Almonry Farm, approximately 90 metres west of the Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul. It is believed to date from the 16th century and is constructed from local lias stone that has been cut and squared, with Ham stone dressings. The barn features a double Roman clay tile roof with stepped coped gables and a finial at the north end. It is a single-storey structure with nine bays.

On the east elevation, there is a 4-centre arched doorway with a boarded door in bay 1. Bay 5 has a wider door that replaced a probably similar door, and bay 8 has another later door. There are also blocked rectangular windows with chamfers at the lower level and four loft doors of varying sizes. The interior is not accessible. Historically, this barn was part of the demesne of the Abbey Farm, as noted in the Victoria County History, volume III, published in 1974.
