Description

MUCHELNEY CP _ ST42SW 8/220 Barn to Almonry Farm, 90 metres west of Church of SS. Peter and Paul 17.4.59 GV II

Barn, etc. Probably C16. Local lias stone cut and squared, Ham stone dressings; double Roman clay tile roof between stepped coped gables, with finial at north end. Single storey, 9 bays. To bay 1 of east elevation a 4-centre arched doorway with boarded door; a probably similar door bay 5 replaced with wider door under timber beam, another later door bay 8; blocked rectangular windows with chamfers to lower level; 4 loft doors of varying sizes. Interior not accessible. Part of the demespe of the Abbey Farm originally (VCH vol III, 1974).
