Description

This is a milepost located on the roadside at the National Grid Reference ST 6394 3796. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of cast iron. The milepost has a V-shaped design with a canted top and features raised lettering that reads: "SHEPTON MALLET 4; CASTLE CARY 4; WEYMOUTH 44". It is part of the Shepton Mallet Turnpike Trust.
