Description
Charterhouse and the attached barn to the east of Windy Farm is a 17th-century farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It is built from rubble with coped verges and features a double-Roman tile roof, along with 19th-century brick stacks that have freestone dressings. The building is arranged in an L-shape and has two storeys plus an attic. It has two bays with one window in each bay, featuring two-light moulded stone-mullioned windows, some of which have been restored and include cornice drips. There is a door opening at the angle between the two wings, which has a 20th-century door and a 19th-century tiled pent roof supported by a wooden bracket. On the outer gable wall, there is a blank four-keyed oval window with a cornice drip. The attached barn to the east has an asbestos slate roof and features two door openings on the ground floor with cambered heads and freestone surrounds, along with plank doors. There are also four window openings with casements set in freestone surrounds.
