Description

The business premises of Morts Equipment were originally a stable block and dovecot for The Three Tuns Hotel, dating from the 18th century. The building is constructed of reddish-brown brick made locally, featuring stone dressings that include bands at the floor levels and below the ground floor windows, an eaves cornice, window keystones, and rusticated architraves at the entrances. The rear sections have dentilled eaves. There are single-storey brick wings at the rear that are colour washed. Most of the original pantile roofs have been replaced with corrugated iron. The central section, which is in a classical style, is three storeys high and includes a carriage entrance on the ground floor, Diocletian windows on the third floor, and dove entrances at the rear. To the north, there is a two-storey, two-bay wing with blocked windows and a central carriage entrance. To the south, there is a single-storey, one-bay wing that also has blocked windows.
