Description
The Halifax Building Society is a former office of the Board of Guardians, now serving as Building Society premises. It was built in the early 19th century and features brown brick construction with a stucco cornice at the front. The building has a hipped Welsh slate roof and a central chimney. It is two storeys tall and consists of three bays. The wider central bay is slightly recessed and includes a single-storey square bay window, which appears to be an addition. Above this bay window is a stucco panel and a tripartite segmental arched window with glazing bars. On the ground floor, there is an entrance to the left and a window to the right, both with round heads. Above these, there are single blank arched panels on each side. At the rear, there are two 16-pane sash windows.
