Description
Potters Restaurant, formerly part of an inn, has been converted into a separate restaurant. It likely dates from the early 18th century. The building features a rendered front on rubble stone with a stone plinth and a stone slate roof, while the rear has a tiled roof with a truncated end stack to the right. It has a coved and moulded stone eaves cornice and bedmould. The structure is a single front range with a projecting gabled stair tower at the rear, which includes dovecot perches in the gable end, and a long single-storey projecting wing. The building is two storeys high and has two windows, which are large triple sashes with 6/18/6 panes set in moulded stone architraves with bull-nosed sills. There is one similar window on the ground floor to the right, featuring a deep splayed sill. To the left, there is a large carriage arch with a timber-framed and brick infill wall to the right, along with large 19th-century tongue and groove double doors. The entrance is located in the rear wing and features scattered fenestration with timber lintels.
