Description

No 22 North Street is a house dating from 1690, as indicated by the datestone. The building is roughcast with a stone slate roof. It features a continuous hoodmould at the ground floor, which covers two bays on the left and one bay on the right of a chamfered elliptical-headed doorway. Above the doorway is a shield-shaped panel inscribed with "G X S 1690," which appears to have a heart beneath it. The windows are double chamfered stone mullioned, with four, five, and three lights on the ground floor, and three, three, one (above the doorway), and three lights on the first floor. There are two chimneys. The interior has not been inspected but may hold interest.
