Description

Story's House is a house and former schoolroom built in 1828 for Robert Storey, a local author, by Mathew Wilson of Eshton Hall. The building is constructed of coursed rubble and features a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and three bays, with an additional rougher projecting bay on the left side that served as the schoolroom. The entrance includes a six-panel raised and fielded door. All the windows are sashed with glazing bars set in plain stone surrounds. The schoolroom has a similar door, but the top two panels are glazed. There are three chimneys on the building.
