Description
27 Town Street is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the late 18th century, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed squared sandstone and features brick stacks at both ends and in the center, topped by a pantile roof. It has a two-storey, three-window front. The entrance is a 20th-century half-glazed door located at the center right, flanked by one four-pane sash window to the right and two to the left, all set under flat arches made of voussoirs. On the first floor, the left end window is a two-over-six pane sliding sash, while the other two are four-pane sashes, all with thin timber lintels. All windows except the sliding sash have painted stone sills. Inside, the left end room contains a large, segment-arched fireplace made of brick.
