Description

This is a late 18th-century terrace of three cottages, now used as two separate dwellings, located on Town Street in Old Malton. The building is constructed of coursed stone, with the lower courses of the front refaced in orange-red brick, and sits on a rendered plinth. The roof is covered in pantiles, with brick stacks positioned at the left end and centre right of the building. The front elevation is arranged as a three-window facade over two storeys. A paired 4-panel door is located to the left of the centre. A third doorway, originally present in the right end, has been blocked up. The windows are 2-light sliding sashes; those in No.11 have large panes, while those in No.13 have smaller panes. The ground floor window openings are topped with flat arches made of voussoirs (wedge-shaped stones). The building is included on the list for its group value.
