Description
A pair of houses dating from the mid-19th century, located on Town Street in Old Malton. The houses are built of red brick in an English garden-wall bond, set on a stone plinth, with sandstone dressings. The rear of the property is of coursed sandstone. They have a shallow-pitched slate roof with overhanging eaves supported by shaped brackets, and a central brick ridge stack.
The front presents a two-storey, two-window facade, with single bays located to either side, set back. Each house has a four-panel entrance door. The ground-floor windows are small-pane sashes with painted stone sills, each beneath a square hoodmould. The first-floor windows are two-light casements, also with small panes of glass. A raised band of two brick courses runs along the first-floor level.
