Description

This is a late 18th-century house, later used as a post office and village shop, located on Town Street in Old Malton. The house is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with a rendered plinth; it has a brick stack and a pantile roof. The building follows a central-entry plan. The front facade has two bays, with windows arranged as a two-window pattern. A half-glazed door is set within a former round-arched opening that has been altered with a wedge-shaped lintel. All windows are 4-pane sash windows with painted stone sills, the ground floor windows being set beneath flat arches of voussoirs. A George VI post box is set into the wall to the right of the entrance door.
