2/36 Statue of Fame and pedestal approximately 35 metres north-east of the Priory

Statue of Fame with pedestal. Early C18, restored c1985. Sculptor unknown. Restoration by Andrew Naylor. Lead statue, ashlar pedestal. Overall height approximately 3 metres, pedestal approximately 1.8 metres with lifesize statue. Rectangular pedestal with moulded base, panelled sides and cornice carries figure of winged Fame with pipe and olive branch. Not in original position. One of a group of early C18 lead statues.
