Description
This is a statue on a pedestal located approximately 40 metres west of Norton Conyers House. It is probably from the early 18th century. The statue is made of lead and stands on an ashlar pedestal, which features a moulded base, fielded panels on each side, and a cornice. The pedestal is 0.75 metres high. The statue depicts a male bearded figure, nearly life-size, dressed in Roman-style military attire, holding a spear in his right hand while his left hand rests on his hip. The figure wears a helmet adorned with the crest of a crouching animal.
