Description
This is a barn and byre located approximately 10 metres north of Lane Foot Farmhouse, dated 1759. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone and has a graduated stone slate roof. The building consists of three bays and features a single aisle, possibly at the east end only. The structure has quoins and evenly spaced scaffolding holes throughout.
On the south side, there is a cart entrance with board doors, quoined jambs, and a shallow segmental arch that includes a dated keystone. The gable coping has had its kneelers removed. The east gable features a central door and flanking doors, with the right door reduced to a window. All these openings have quoined jambs and large flat lintels. A cyma-moulded kneeler survives at the north-east corner. The interior has not been inspected.
