Description
The barn and byre located to the east of Fox House is an 18th-century structure, with the byre dated 1759 on a lintel. It is constructed of coursed rubble with stone dressings and features stone-flagged roofs. The barn is positioned at a right angle to the east end of the house, extending south, while the byre runs east from the barn, creating a T-shape with the house. The barn stands two storeys high and consists of four internal bays. It has a large segmental-arched wagon entrance on the east face, which is adorned with well-cut voussoirs. The blank west face has been recently rebuilt correctly. The single-storey byre has five irregular bays, with various doors and windows on the north front, most of which are now blocked. There are boarded doors at the east end and on the south side. Additionally, there are long lean-to extensions to the south, with the western extension featuring an asbestos roof, which is not of special interest.
