Description
Stoddah Farmhouse and barns, located north of Stoddah Bank, date from the mid-17th century and have 19th-century alterations and barn additions. The farmhouse features whitewashed rendered rubble walls beneath a graduated greenslate roof with stone chimney stacks. The barns are constructed of slate rubble and also have greenslate roofs. The farmhouse is two stories high with three bays, while the barns have two bays each; the barn on the right shares a common roof with the house, and the barn on the left is slightly taller. A central gabled stone porch with a 20th-century door is set within a plain opening. The windows include 20th-century sash and casement styles, some situated in original plain reveals, along with a small fixed-light firewindow that has been enlarged. The barns contain central segmental-arched cart entrances and stone-surround doorways. Inside the farmhouse, there is a 17th-century beamed ceiling and an 18th-century stone fireplace. A 17th-century panelled partition divides the ground floor, and there is some similar wall panelling present.
