Description
High Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1695, with alterations from the 19th century. It features mixed slate and sandstone rubble walls with flush quoins, topped by a graduated greenslate roof that has rebuilt sandstone chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The central entrance has a 20th-century door set in a chamfered stone surround, complete with a shaped dated lintel. The windows are 20th-century replacements in 19th-century stone surrounds, and there are blocked fire windows on both floors. At the rear, there is an outshut with a 19th-century extension. Despite the numerous alterations, the doorway remains exceptional. The adjoining barns and the right lean-to extension are not of interest.
