Description

This is a mid-18th century barn with an attached byre. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone rubble and cobbles, with a pantile roof featuring a stone slate eaves course. Quoins are present. The barn is five bays long, with a central cart entrance featuring a shaped wooden lintel and quoined jambs. A byre door is located to the left, also with a timber lintel and quoined jambs, and a square window has been inserted to the right. Two rows of slit breathers are visible, each with quoined jambs. Inside, the roof structure consists of plain cross beams with crown posts. This barn is one of the few remaining examples in a village once comprised of farms clustered around the village green.
