Description

The mausoleum, located approximately 20 metres north of the Church of All Saints in Hovingham, is a structure built for the Worsley family. It dates from the mid to late 18th century, with a 19th-century addition. The building is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a stone slate roof. It has a square plan with an additional porch on the south side and is semi-subterranean. There are steps leading down to a boarded door located in the gabled porch, which displays a Chi-Rho symbol in relief on the gable end. Each side of the mausoleum has a small rectangular unglazed opening. The roof is pyramidal and is topped with a finial.
