Description

14 and 16 Finkle Street are two houses that have been converted into shops. They date from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The front and left side are rendered, while there is a rubble stone wing at the left rear. The building has a pantile roof with brick stacks at the center and right end. It is two storeys tall with an attic and features a four-window front.

On the left end, there is a 20th-century half-glazed door beneath an open-pedimented hood. To the right, there are two shop fronts: one from the 20th century (number 16) and the other from the late 19th century (number 14), which includes a canted window next to a half-glazed and panelled door. The first floor has four single-pane sash windows with painted stone sills and triple keyblocks. A flat dormer with a two-light window has been added in the attic on the right side.

The left return features a lower two-storey wing with one window to the left of the main front gable wall, which has a two-light window in the attic. The wing has a 20th-century board door to the right of a four-pane sash window beneath a painted timber lintel.
