Description
Number 29 is a public house that has been converted into offices, with attached railings at the front. It was built in the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with the right side rendered and set on a painted stone plinth. It features painted stone quoins and keyblocks, along with a timber eaves cornice and doorcase. The right gable is coped with a small kneeler, and there are rebuilt brick stacks at the end and right of the center, supporting a pantile roof.
The iron railings are set on a part-rendered, part-painted stone plinth and stand approximately 0.75 meters high, adorned with pierced arrow-head finials and standards topped with tulip finials. The building is two stories with an attic and has a five-window front, highlighted by raised quoins. The central door consists of six raised-and-fielded panels and is framed by a pilaster doorcase topped with a prominent cornice hood supported by elaborate consoles.
The ground-floor windows are single-pane sashes above a sillband, while the first-floor windows are 12-pane sashes with painted stone sills. All windows feature keyed flat arches made of gauged brick. The eaves cornice is moulded and decorated with rosettes and consoles. There are three flat dormers, each with two-light casements.
