Description
52 and 54 Upper Parliament Street are two houses that have been converted into shops. They date from around 1700 and were altered in the mid-19th century, with restoration taking place in the late 20th century. The buildings are rendered and feature a plain tile roof with a central brick ridge stack. They are two storeys high, plus attics, and have a two-window range. The ground floor has two shopfronts; the left one is from the late 20th century, while the right shopfront, dating from the late 19th century, has been altered in the late 20th century and includes an off-centre recessed door flanked by plate glass windows. Above the shopfronts, there are four plain sash windows. At the top, there are two large shouldered dormers that extend through the eaves, featuring renewed brick coping and single plain sash windows.
