Description
Langtry's Public House is a public house built in the early to mid 19th century. It features a stucco exterior with a hipped artificial slate roof and rendered gable and ridge stacks. The building has a plinth, a ramped cornice at the ground floor, and moulded eaves. The ground floor mainly consists of cross framed plain sash windows, while the upper floors have primarily margin pane sashes, all with moulded surrounds.
The front of the building, facing South Sherwood Street, includes a doorway flanked by pilasters and a recessed glazed door, topped with a dummy parapet adorned with ball finials. To the left of the door is a single window, and to the right are two windows. On the upper floors, there are three windows on each floor, arranged unequally. The left side of the building has a door flanked by two three-light windows on the left and a similar window on the right, followed by a single light window. Above this, there are three windows, and above again, two smaller glazing bar sashes alongside a blank space. The interior was refitted in the late 20th century.
