Description
7 and 9 Bridge Street are two houses that have been converted into shops. They date from the mid-18th century and have undergone alterations in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The buildings are constructed of brick with stone and brick dressings, and the roof is not visible. They feature a dentillated moulded eaves cornice and multiple keystone lintels. The structure is three storeys high and has a five-window range. On the left, there are four 16-pane sash windows, while on the right, there is a dummy 8-pane sash window. Above, to the right, there is a 6-pane sash window, flanked on the left by three dummy sashes and on the right by a dummy 4-pane sash. The ground floor on the left has a mid-19th century wooden shopfront with panelled pilasters and scroll brackets supporting the cornice. It includes a recessed glazed door with an overlight, and to the left, there is a 20th-century single-pane window. To the right, there is a 20th-century tiled shopfront with an entry door on the right, beneath a continuous fascia.
