Description

Brook House is a late 18th-century brick house located on the south side of Leavening Dam Lane, near Ryedale, North Yorkshire. The house is constructed of brick in English bond with a pantile roof. It has a central entrance and is two rooms deep, with a symmetrical facade of three bays. The ground floor features a 20th-century glazed door with an overlight, flanked by 16-pane sashes which were slightly enlarged in the 20th century. The first floor has a 9-pane fixed window between two 16-pane sashes. Windows are topped with wedge lintels, except for the central first-floor window which has a cambered brick arch. The roof has a gable coping, shaped kneelers, and end stacks.
