Description

Walgate House is a late 18th-century to early 19th-century house, with a 19th-century extension. Shown on Ordnance Survey maps as Beech Tree Farm, it is constructed of brick in English bond, with hammer-dressed limestone to the rear, and has a pantile roof. The house features a central-hallway entry and is two storeys high with three windows on the first floor. It has a six-panel door with an overlight, and four-pane sash windows throughout, each with a flat brick arch. A stepped eaves course is present, and there are end stacks. A 19th-century addition to the left is not of particular architectural interest. The property is included for its group value.
