Description

The gates, gate piers, and attached walls at Wykeham Village date from the early 19th century. They feature wrought-iron gates and gate piers made of chamfered rusticated sandstone. The gate piers are rectangular with bowed ends, standing about 3 metres high, and are topped with cornices and flat urn finials. The walls on either side of the entrance rise from approximately 1.5 to 1.8 metres and have flat coping. This structure serves as the entrance to Wykeham Abbey.
