Description

Manor Farmhouse and Manor Farm Cottage is a house and cottage built in the early 19th century and extended in 1841. The front and left gable end are made of squared sandstone, while the right side and rear are constructed from coursed sandstone rubble. The building features a pantile roof and rebuilt brick stacks. It is two stories tall with a five-window front. The house on the right has a 20th-century six-panel door with a divided overlight above it. Throughout the building, there are 20th-century two-light, small-pane casements in the original openings. Above the door, there is a recessed panel with a moulding of the Dawnay arms. All openings have painted wedge lintels. The cottage has a plain door with a divided overlight to the right and a 20-pane sash window on the ground floor, along with two 16-pane sashes on the first floor. Heavy painted lintels are present above all openings. A Royal Insurance firemark is located beneath the eaves between the house and the former cottage. The building features coped gables and shaped kneelers, with stacks at the ends and left of center. The left side has a chamfered corner made of chiselled quoins, and there is a datestone in the gable end. At the rear, there is a single-storey outshut with a catslide roof, along with a service wing that is at right angles to the house.
