Description

Number 63 and the attached outbuilding are a house and outbuilding built in 1846, as indicated by the datestone. They were constructed for the Wykeham estate and feature dressed sandstone on a plinth, with a pantile roof and rebuilt brick stacks. The building has a central-staircase plan, is 1½ rooms deep, and includes a service outbuilding at the rear left.

The front of the house is two stories high with two windows, while the single-storey outbuilding is to the left. A central board door is located beneath a divided overlight. The house has 16-pane sash windows with stone sills throughout, and all openings have chiselled lintels. The datestone above the door is inscribed with "1846 MDL."

At the end stacks, the left side features a plank door with a 2-light horizontal-sliding sash window to the left, and there is a shuttered pitching opening above. Heavy lintels are present above all openings. At the rear, there are 2-light, 24-pane horizontal-sliding sash windows.
