Description

Gates, gate piers, and walls located approximately 55 metres north of Wykeham Abbey, probably from the early 19th century, enclose the entrance courtyard. The wrought-iron gates are flanked by sandstone piers and walls built on a chamfered plinth. The gate piers are rectangular in shape with bowed ends, standing about 3 metres high, and feature cornices and tall urn finials. The walls are approximately 1.25 metres high and step up to the gate piers, incorporating pilaster piers with tall urn finials and flat coping.
