Description
41, 42, and 44 Burgate are 18th century buildings that stand two storeys tall, constructed from coursed rubble with a pantile roof. The gable end facing the Market Place features one casement window beneath a wooden lintel and a small 19th century shop window. There are two brick chimney stacks and a door located in the corner.
On the Burgate side, there is a rectangular modern oriel semi-dormer with four lights and half-timbering above a modern and 19th century shop front. A small window is positioned over a double door in the entrance, which has plain pilasters. To the right, there is another oriel dormer with modern half-timber ornamentation and four lights above a modern shop front. A passage doorway is located to the right as well.
These buildings are included as part of a group with other nearby properties, contributing to the local architectural interest.
