Description

Nos 43 and 44 Market Place are 18th century buildings that have been significantly altered. They are two storeys high, rendered, and topped with a pantile roof. The buildings feature four windows; one has a narrow wooden lintel and hung sashes with glazing bars, while the others are modern with flat lintels. The ground floor has been cut back and features modern 'Georgian' shop fronts. These buildings are included as part of a group with Nos 15 and 16, 16A, 17 to 23 (consecutive), 33 to 38 (consecutive), and St George's House, which together with Nos 40 to 48 (consecutive) form a notable group, with several buildings of local interest among them.
