Description

The building at 2 and 3 Market Place dates from the 18th century. It is a two-story structure with an attic, constructed of painted brick with a Welsh slate roof. The roof features three brick stacks and three dormers, two gabled and one later addition. A modillion eaves cornice runs along the left side, while the right side has a plain cornice. Stone rusticated quoins are present. The first floor has a canted bay window from the late 19th century on the left and a single sash window with glazing bars under a stone lintel. The right side features three sash windows with glazing bars, each also with a stone lintel. Shop fronts occupy the ground floor.

The building forms a group with properties at numbers 4 to 7, The Bay Horse Public House (numbers 9 to 11), and number 14, recognized for their local interest.
