Description
Hetherton and Dempsey Solicitors Premises is a former cottage that has been converted into business premises, dating from the early 18th century. The building is constructed of rendered brick and features dentilled eaves. It has a steep half-hipped pantile roof and stands two storeys tall. On the first floor, there are three small casement windows. The entrance, which has a 20th-century door, is flanked by bow windows that also have 20th-century glazing. The end elevation facing Leigh Street includes a simple shop front with a wooden surround and a small 19th-century sash window set in a flush wood architrave. The building occupies an important position in the cobbled square.
