Description

The Gables is a late 18th-century to early 19th-century house located in Gilling with Hartforth Millgate and Sedbury. The house is constructed of coursed rubble with a stone slate roof. It is a two-story building with a rear outshut and has three windows on the first floor. The house features quoins. The central entrance has a part-glazed six-panel door set within an ashlar surround, including flush impost blocks. The windows are four-pane sashes with projecting sills and deep lintels, with the exception of the window above the door, which is a smaller 20th-century casement. The building has shaped kneelers, an ashlar coping, and end stacks. The property is included on the listing for its group value.
